Sponsored Taylor player Chris Brown of the Woodlands B.C Doncaster has been in top form recently winning his fourth competition of the year, Chris added to his trophy haul by winning the Parkfield Labour Club 1 Day 32, beating the up and coming Yorkshire starlet Josh Mordue 21-16 in the final game of the day. Brown continued his winning form in the first game of the day beating Andy Hayes from St.Helens 21-18 which was to be his nearest any of his opponents would get to him. Chris's last 16 challenger was the Blackpool bowler Ricky Cochrane who really never settled on the green and it was Brown who ran out a convincing winner 21-12. Down to the quarter final stage and Brown was to play the much fancied Jimmy Derby from Manchester, on paper this looked like it could go to the wire, but Brown was in no mood to let Derby settle and left his opponent on the end of a 21-06 defeat. The semi final game was to see the young Lee Kingston from Birmingham up against Brown, this game was nip and tuck into the early teens until Brown upped a gear and ran out a comfortable 21-15 winner. The Final game of the day was to be Brown against up and coming Yorkshire player Josh Mordue from Pudsey B.C, Mordue has appeared in quite a few final days so far this year and was hoping to lift the trophy, and at 15-10 to Mordue it was looking like the youngster was about to pick up his first silverware of the year, but it was that man Brown again who went into over drive limiting his opponent to one more chalk winning 21-16 as Brown picked up the winners cheque for £500 and the title of Parkfield Labour Club Classic Winner 2017.
