Neil Mulholland (Ireland)

An A to Z of Team Taylor

Neil Mulholland (Ireland)

Neil Mullhollan was born in 1980 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. He started playing short mat bowls with his parents at the age of 11. He then started outdoors in 1992 and indoors in 1994. He is a member of Lisnagarvey Bowling Club and Belfast IBC. He plays with an Ace indoors as he finds this a good all rounder for various surfaces. Both his father and his down-syndrome brother play bowls. His brother is the most enthusiastic person he has every seen playing bowls.

When Neil isn't bowling he is working on Civil contracts, groundworks and earthworks and steel manufacturing. His funniest moment in bowls was when: all square last end, drove jack for a  burn and the jack disintegrated into pieces when hit. Nobody knew what to do so end was replayed. It was people's faces looking for the jack which made it funnier!

He most admires in the bowling world Jim Baker, Ireland's only World Indoor Singles Champion. He also admires David Corkhill for his longevity, attiutude and desire.

His favourite footballl team is Manchester United he also loves music and his favourite films are "The Shawshank Redemption"  and the "Batman Trilogy".
